Founded in 2009, Fundacion Mentē is an Ecuadorian NGO headquartered in Quito that brings together experienced professionals committed to conservation and sustainable development.
Through a light and flexible organizational structure, Fundación MentÄ“ promotes direct dialogue with local communities to support the conservation of Amazon rainforest biodiversity and Achuar Culture.

We operate under the supervision of Ecuador’s Ministry of the Environment (MAATE Ministerial Agreement No. 005, of February, 2009,) governed by a four-member board and supported by a team of ten coordinators working in the Achuar rainforest.
We are a grassroots organisation, enabling hands-on and direct engagement, regular contact with local partners, and a current, grounded understanding of both the challenges they face and the opportunities for conservation and sustainable development.
